This piece of artwork is an artistic representation of the Chinese character for OX (牛). It was using Chinese traditional ink handwritten on good rice paper and It was a seal script style (1122 - 221 B.C.) in Chinese calligraphy.
The character of an OX: Serious, Diligent, Stable, Persevering, Never give up
The zodiac animals have been magical animals in people's minds since ancient times. They have accompanied us for nearly three thousand years as a long-standing folk cultural symbol. It has become a mark and brand that can not be changed for the life of a nation, condensing thousands of years of culture and history.
In Chinese astrology, each year is related to a Chinese zodiac animal according to the 12-year cycle. In order, the 12 animals are Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig. Each year is associated with a zodiac animal.
