Description
This piece artwork was the special design and created painted by Carmen Lam for the new breed musical "3 Pekes in a Pod" created by Dr. Quincy Dobbs and Steven Prevett. And my artwork will be used in the upcoming book "3 Pekes in a Pod." by Quincy Dobbs.
To express the theme and three protagonists in musical plays with Chinese characters, history, musical symbols, and abstract freehand written. The image on the left represents music, and the right side uses abstract with smooth lines to represent the currently active Pekingese dog. The middle image uses Chinese oracle bone pictographs character to express the long history of Pekingese dogs.
The musical synopsis: Three Pekes in a Pod is a new breed of musical about three Pekingese-Benny, Peng Chou, Xui Mai, who must come together as a family as they experience their new lives in a new neighborhood. The Three Pekes struggle to identify with their cultural identity and individuality as they are faced with a full-out cultural clash war against the local dogs.
